Along with pastoring they are both certified coaches. Tim has been a member of the John Maxwell Team for 2 years and Elke is a Certified Health Coach and has a blog focusing making the “healthy life simple”. Celebrating their fifteenth year of marriage together, the husband and wife duo has had 4 kids, Aubrey 12, Avah 10, Roman John 7, and Anthony 4. They are passionate about creating a life giving church reaching unchurched people, and seeing them reach their next level. With an authentic teaching style they are open and transparent about their mistakes and successes in a way that encourages people to grow.
Financial Director, Elder, and Trustee
Ernie has been married to Beverly 2 1/2 years, and between them they have six kids that are all grown. Ernie is the finance director in an elder and trustee.
Matthew Kennedy was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC, with family roots in Western North Carolina. Matthew grew up playing drums and percussion, eventually adding piano, rhythm guitar, and vocals. Matthew has performed and traveled with a large variety of musicians and bands, covering a wide spectrum of genres. Matthew is a student at Bethels WorshipU, where he has earned multiple certificates, he enjoys leading worship at The Heights Church and is excited to see where God is taking the Praise & Worship Team.
Matthew and his wife of 26 years, Myra, have one son, Evan, who attends Lenoir-Rhyne University. Matthew and his family are proud to be a part of The Heights City Church family under the vision and leadership of Pastor Tim Polis.
Proud husband and father of 4 children. I enjoy anything tech and have a passion for people and learning from conversations . I have been attending the Heights city church for 4 years now. The Polis Family have been an added Blessing to me and my family .
Margaret is originally from South Africa, and has lived in Asheville since 1995. Margaret has a heart and a passion for prayer, and has been lead intercessor for 18 years. She loves leading the intercessors here at The Heights City Church.
Paul was born in South Africa, where he served three years as a South African police constable. After moving to the US he has worked as a cruelty investigator, and now owns his own construction business. Paul enjoys spending time outdoors. He has attended Heights city church for almost 2 years.
